Rocky Mountain
National Park and Thorne
Ecological Institute of Boulder, Colorado,
have teamed up to develop three Heart of the
Rockies Activity Guides for grades K-3, 3-6, and 6-9. These
teacher-friendly resources provide step-by-step activities and information
for planning a successful and fun field trip to study sites in the Park.
The guides, which were written and field tested by teachers, contain
activities your students can do before, during, and after a visit to the
Park. The guides connect the natural diversity of Rocky Mountain
National Park to your
community and provide a complete index of on-site activities to specific
trails and locations. Newly developed are correlations of the activities to
the Colorado Education Content Standards, and assessment scoring guides for
select activities.
The Activity Guides can be purchased by the completing the Order
Form, printing it, then mailing it with your
payment. Another way is by enrolling in one of our teacher workshops, a
great way to discover Rocky and gain graduate recertification credit.
Participants in the workshops visit a variety of field sites for
demonstrations of activities from the Activity Guides. Won't you join us?
